The Plymouth Family Resource Center (PFRC) provides community-based, multi-cultural, support groups, parenting programs, assessment services, information and referral resources, and education for families whose children range in age from birth to 18. PFRC operates through three tiers of support: assessment/family support, resources and referrals, and groups and events.

​​South Shore Community Action Council, Inc. (SSCAC) is a private
not-for-profit organization, which provides a range of critical services to lower-income South Shore residents, including Plymouth.  SSCAC offers many programs including Emergency Assistance for help with rent or internet bills, Fuel Assistance for help with heat and utility bills; Early Education programs including Head Start and pre-school; and more.

​The Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless strives to nurture and empower families and individuals seeking basic needs assistance by providing them the shelter, food, and educational resources necessary to reach their potential and independence.  The Coalition also operates the FAIR program offering furniture and housewares at minimal cost, the Children's Holiday Fund, and The Voice in the Night program; a free resource and referral service to all individuals in need of support during times of crisis available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 781-582-2010.

The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) assists and empowers low-income individuals and families to meet their basic needs, improve their quality of life, and achieve long term economic self-sufficiency. DTA serves one in nine residents of the Commonwealth with direct economic assistance (cash benefits) and food assistance (SNAP benefits), as well as workforce training opportunities.​

​The WIC Program aims to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care.​
