Grandparents
The role of grandparents has drastically changed in the last twenty years. Grandparents today play a critical role in raising children and providing support to our families. Many of them are the ‘glue’ that keep families moving forward. Grandparents support their families through childcare, sharing parenting responsibilities or providing full time parenting to their grandchildren. As family support professionals we strive to adapt our programs and services to be responsive to the unique needs of grandparents, especially those raising their grandchildren.
